About the event

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a vibrant Mexican holiday observed on November 1st and 2nd to honor and remember deceased loved ones. The celebration blends ancient Indigenous Aztec rituals with Spanish Catholic traditions, creating a festive occasion where families build altars (ofrendas) decorated with marigolds, photos, and the deceased's favorite foods and drinks to welcome their spirits home. Rather than mourning, the holiday focuses on celebrating the lives of the departed and maintaining their connection with the living through music, food, and stories.
